Dana W. "Papa" Muncey

Dana W. “Papa” Muncey, 61, of North Ridgeville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday January 19, 2018 at his residence, following a hard fought battle with cancer.  He was born December 18, 1956 in Cleveland.  Dana attended Brunswick High School and had resided in Lorain County for most of his life.  He was a retired LMF Operator from LTV Steel in Cleveland where he worked for over 20 years.  After he retired, he worked as a substitute bus driver for North Ridgeville City Schools and as a bus driver for Lorain County Transit.  Dana was also a self-employed hand man who enjoyed working with his hands and helping his family and friends.  He also assisted his wife in the operation of the former “Gee Gee and Papa Papa’s” Family Restaurant in North Ridgeville.  He loved to attend services at Cathedral of Life Church in North Ridgeville.  Dana was a member of the Moose Club in Elyria and of the Moose Riders.  He is survived by; his loving wife, Catherine (nee Boyd); One daughter, Dana Lea Muncey of Amherst; two sons, Billy Cruis of FL and Joseph Muncey of Norton; one step-daughter, Catherine Smith of Elyria; two step-sons, Louis Smith Jr. of Elyria and Ronald Boyd of southern Ohio; One daughter/granddaughter, Hope Scarbros and eight other grandchildren; two sisters, Terri Tyson of North Olmsted and Danielle Browning of southern Ohio; and two brothers, Keith Muncey of Strongsville and David Muncey of Kentucky.  He was preceded in death by; his parents, Dana H. and Genevieve (nee Butcher) Muncey; and by one brother, Carl Goff.  The family will receive friends on Thursday January 25, 2018 from 4 to 8pm at Cathedral of Life Church, 5375 Jaycox Rd., North Ridgeville.  Dana’s Funeral Service will be held Friday January 26, 2018 at 11:00am at the church.  Pastor Mike Payne will officiate.  Burial will be at Ridgeville Cemetery in North Ridgeville.  The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Cathedral of Life Church.  Liston Funeral Home, North Ridgeville, is serving the family.
