Edward Burkholder

Edward  Burkholder, 56, of Elyria, passed away at his residence on Friday March 24, 2017 following a long illness.  He was born July 20, 1960 in Bay Village.  Mr. Burkholder was raised in North Ridgeville and had resided in Elyria for many years.  He attended North Ridgeville High School.  He was the Maintenance Supervisor at the Wesleyan Village in Elyria where he was employed for 30 years.  Ed enjoyed fishing, camping, video games, baseball, Ohio State college football and NASCAR racing.  He is survived by; his wife of 32 years, Nora (nee Goodrich); one daughter, Rebecca Sullenberger (Jake) of Elyria; one son, Benjamin Burkholder (Tanya) of North Ridgeville; one step-daughter, Elizabeth Buckway (Rick ) of Elyria; four grandchildren, Cayden, Lilyan, Christopher and Alex (and one on the way!); two sisters, Rosie Hintz (William) of Avon Lake and Claudia Burkholder of MN; his father, Eugene Burkholder of MN; and by one brother, Craig Burkholder.  He was preceded in death by; his mother, Rosemary Burkholder (nee Lynch); and by a brother, Lawrence Burkholder.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday March 29, 2017 from 4pm until the time of the funeral service at 7pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville.  Elder Robert Campbell Jr. will officiate the service.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Crossroads Hospice.
