Gary A. Campbell

Gary A. Campbell, 55, of Sheffield Village, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday October 13, 2017 following a long illness.  He was born in Cleveland on August 18, 1962.  He was a 1980 graduate of Unaka High School in Stoney Creek, TN.  Gary had been a resident of Sheffield Village for 28 years.  He was a Hazmat Truck Driver at Chemtron in Avon Lake and was formerly employed at PPG Industries in Cleveland where he served on the fire brigade.  He was a charter member of the Northern Ohio Street Machines Club.  Gary was well known as an auto mechanic and paint and body man.  He was an avid boater and he enjoyed fishing, bowling, sports and NASCAR.  Gary is survived by; his wife of 34 years, Ellen (nee Shikner); one daughter, Melissa Mortensen (Mike) of Sheffield Village; one son, Kenneth Campbell (Holly) of Westlake; a grandson, Cody; his parents, Robert and Betty (nee Estep) Campbell of Elizabethton, TN; one sister, Sheila Farrell of North Ridgeville; and by one brother, Richard Campbell (Eileen) of North Ridgeville.  A graveside service will be held on Tuesday October 17, 2017 at 1:30pm at Ridgehill Memorial Park Cemetery, 44805 N. Ridge Rd., Amherst.  Pastor Peter Folger from Cleveland Baptist Church, will officiate.  The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia, 1331 E. Wyoming Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19124.  Liston Funeral Home, North Ridgeville, is serving the family.
