George James Apger, 67, of North Ridgeville, passed away on Thursday March 1, 2018 following a two year battle with cancer. He was born June 28, 1950 in Cleveland. Mr. Apger had been a North Ridgeville resident for 15 years and was formerly of Cleveland. He was employed by the Regional Transit Authority in Cleveland for over 20 years. Mr. Apger was a member of Gateway Community Church in North Ridgeville where he served by assisting with the building and grounds maintenance. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, sci-fi movies and books. Mr. Apger is survived by; three sons, Christopher Apger of Oak Harbor, WA, David Apger of Brook Park and Joseph Apger of Cleveland; eight grandchildren; his siblings, Warren, Joanne, John and Lillian; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by; his wife, Joan Apger (nee Ackerman) in 2006; his father, Warren John Apger; and by his mother and step-father, Lillian and William Ross. The family will receive friends on Monday March 12, 2018 from 6:00pm until the time of the funeral service at 8:00pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. Pastor Alex Ennes from Gateway Community Church, will officiate.
