Mark Leroy Roig

Mark Leroy Roig, 58, of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly at home Friday, October 13, 2017.  Mark was born July 23, 1959 in Bay Village and was a long time resident of Elyria. He was a 1977 graduate of Clearview High School where he was a member of the marching band.  Mark worked for twenty years as a supervisor at Norlake in Elyria. He attended Church of the Open Door in Elyria.  He was a devoted father and enjoyed playing football and camping with his children.  Mark was a very talented musician.  He played both the trombone and piano and as a teenager he toured with the American Youth Orchestra, playing in Europe and in Carnegie Hall. He is survived by one daughter, Hannah Roig; two sons, Jordan and Christian Roig; his former wife and mother of his children, Kathleen Roig;  his mother, Shirley Heldt; his father, Gerald Roig (Bertha); one sister, Deborah Young; one step-sister Barbara Oasch; two step-brothers, Jay and Steve Raymond; two nieces, one nephew, three great-nieces and two great-nephews.  The family will receive friends Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 5-8pm at Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville.  Funeral services will be Friday, October 20 at 11:00am at the funeral home.  Pastor Brian Gardiner will officiate.  Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst.
