Virginia K (Spanos) Engler

Virginia “Jenny” K. Engler (nee Spanos), 92, formerly a long time resident of Grafton, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017 at O’Neill Healthcare in North Ridgeville, following a long illness.  She was born on September 4, 1925 in Avon.  Virginia was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post #3341 in Grafton.  She enjoyed playing cards, playing golf, and playing bingo.  She also enjoyed spending time with her family.  Virginia is survived by one daughter, Sandra Harris (Roger), of Lorain; two sons, Gary Engler (Debby) of Fairview Park and Eddie Engler (Donna) of New London; six grandchildren, Sean, Roger, Royal, Molly, Abbie and Krystle; and two sisters, Ruth Demyan and Irene Ziegman. She was preceded in death by; her husband, Edward; two sisters, Rosemary Noga and Delores Hayes; and three brothers, Bud, Joe and Andy Spanos.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday September 26, 2017 from 10:00am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville.  Pastor Dan Sewell will officiate. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Elyria.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Crossroads Hospice.
