Elsie M. (Mack) Petitt

Elsie M. Petitt (nee Mack), 92, of Eaton Township, went home to be with the Lord, at her residence on Tuesday March 12, 2024, following a short illness.  She was born on February 13, 1932 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania and resided in Cleveland before moving to Eaton Township 50 years ago.  She worked for over 20 years at Industrial Plastics in Valley City, and prior to that she worked in the sewing department at the Joseph and Feiss Company in Cleveland.  She loved caring for her home and she enjoyed entertaining her family for all of the major holidays.  Elsie was known for having a green thumb and she loved gardening.  Last year, at the age of 91, she helped to plant and take care of her vegetable garden.  She was also very artistic and enjoyed cake decorating, flower arranging, and painting.  Elsie was a member of Midview Baptist Church in Eaton Township.   She is survived by: two daughters, Theresa Baker (John) of Elyria, and Linda Sue Brewer of Elyria; three sons, John “Jack” Brewer (Nancy) of North Ridgeville, Tim Brewer (Kathy) of Elyria, and Bobby Brewer of Elyria; seven grandchildren, Richard Reese, Michael Reese I, Joseph Reese, John Brewer II, Robert Brewer, Jaclyn Brewer, and Terri Thompson; eleven great-grandchildren, Halee, Alan, Andrew, Faith, John, Mike, Madison, Gabe, Levi, Ava, and Leah; and her beloved dog, Maggie.  She was preceded in death by: her husband, William Petitt in 2016; her daughter, Diane Brewer in 1995; two sisters; and three brothers.  The family will receive friends on Friday March 15, 2024 from 5 to 8pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville.  The Funeral Service will be Saturday March 16, 2024 at 10am at the funeral home.  Pastor Tim Mayo from Midview Baptist Church will officiate.  Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
