Bobby J. Gunter

Bobby Joe Gunter, 64, of Lorain, was welcomed into Heaven on Saturday January 27, 2018.  He passed away at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland.  He was born January 3, 1954 in Elyria.  Mr. Gunter had been a resident of Lorain County for many years.  He was employed for many years as a laborer at Randy Sherrill Construction in Sheffield Village and just retired from there in January 2018.  Mr. Gunter was a member of Sheffield Church of God in Sheffield Village.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles and fishing.  Mr. Gunter was deeply loved by his family, his extended family and by his many friends.  He is survived by; his beloved children, Crystal Jackson (Heath) and Donnie Gunter (Courtney), both of Athens, Alabama, Katrina Carden of Minor Hill, Tennessee, Nikole Gunter (Jeff) of Vermilion, Katherine Gunter (Zach) of Lorain, Cassandra Byler Gunter of Elyria and Isaiah Byler (Whitney) of Gastonia, North Carolina; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his father, McKinley Gunter of Crossville, Tennessee; his siblings, Raymond Gunter, Ralph Gunter, Sherry Barnes (Tony) and Vickie Smith (Shannon), all of Crossville, Tennessee; and by many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Glennis Gunter (nee Davenport) and by one sister, Elaine Gunter.   A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday February 3, 2018 at 4:00pm at Sheffield Church of God, 2280 Abbe Rd., Sheffield Village.  Pastor Scott Skeens will officiate the service.  The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Sheffield Church of God.  Liston Funeral Home, North Ridgeville, is serving the family.
