Chris Taleff, 88, of North Ridgeville, passed away Thursday August 15, 2019 at the Avon Oaks Caring Community in Avon. He was born April 8, 1931 in Selo Durmeni, Macedonia. Mr. Taleff had resided in North Ridgeville for 20 years and previously resided in North Olmsted. He was a professional custom tailor and he worked as a supervisor for several years at the Joseph & Feiss Co. in Cleveland. He was then hired by The May Company in Cleveland and managed four separate alteration departments. He retired in 1987 after 30 years with The May Company. Mr. Taleff was an accomplished accordion player and after immigrating to the United States from Macedonia, he formed the Chris Taleff Orchestra. His well-known band played at many local functions including dances and wedding receptions. The Chris Taleff Orchestra had the honor of representing Macedonian culture and music at the Bicentennial Folk Festival in Washington DC in 1976. Mr. Taleff was a founding and active member of St. Clement Macedonian Orthodox Church in Avon. He enjoyed gardening, wine making and keeping the Macedonian culture and traditions alive in his family. Chris Taleff is survived by: his daughter, Nadine Tasevski (George) of Orchard Park, NY; his son, David Taleff (Vesna) of North Ridgeville; four grandchildren, Christine Marrano (Jason), Michael Tasevski, Tatjana and Natasha Taleff; and by his great-granddaughter, Mila Tasevski. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Magdalene (nee Steve) in 2007; his parents, Kosta and Zorka Taleff; and by two sisters, Csana Radovich and Simka Georgievski. The family will receive friends on Tuesday August 20, 2019 from 4 to 8pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30pm. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday August 21, 2019 at 10:30am at St. Clement Macedonian Orthodox Church, 38665 French Creek Rd., Avon. The Very Rev. Father Vasil Manasev, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be at St. Theodosius Orthodox Cemetery in Brooklyn.
