Donna F. (Houghtby) Haymans

Donna Faye Haymans (nee Houghtby), 84, of Avon Lake, passed away Friday February 24, 2017 at Main Street Care Center in Avon Lake.  She was born November 18, 1932 in Sandwich, Illinois.  She had resided in Avon Lake for the past 10 years and previously resided at Lake Doster in Plainwell, Michigan for 35 years.  She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Kalamazoo College in 1955.  She was a music teacher, church organist and choir director for many years and was retired from Kalamazoo College of Music.  She enjoyed playing golf and bridge, music and crafts.  Mrs. Haymans is survived by; her husband of 61 years, Robert Lee Haymans; one daughter, Lynda Fetchet (John) of Columbia Station; one son, Robert Scott Haymans of Parma; five grandchildren, Crystal Fetchet, Kaley Marshall, John R. “JR” Fetchet, Samantha Haymans and Robert Sonny Haymans; and by a sister, Carol Cox (Casey) of Olympia, WA.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Leona (nee Beams) Houghtby.  A memorial service will be held Saturday March 4, 2017 at 2:00pm in Grace Hall at Main Street Care Center, 500 Community Drive, Avon Lake.  Rev. Mark Telepak will officiate the service.  Memorial contributions are suggested to The Crossroads Hospice Gift of a Day Program.  Liston Funeral Home, North Ridgeville, is serving the family.
