Eleanor S. (Bazilius) Maynard

Eleanor S. Maynard (nee Bazilius), 69, of Elyria, passed away Sunday February 11, 2018 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 25, 1948 in East Cleveland. Eleanor resided in Cleveland for her childhood years and attended Jane Addams High School before moving to Elyria where she laid roots of her own, growing new friendships, and caring for her family. Eleanor worked at Giant Eagle in Sheffield for many years, where she continued to be a loyal employee until her retirement in 2003. She highly enjoyed a plethora of hobbies, including: Gardening, Baking, listening to her favorite music, and loving her family. Eleanor was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Elyria. She is survived by: her daughter, Dena L. Roberts (Timothy) of Elyria; her son, Dale E. Maynard (Maxie) of Mt. Orab Ohio; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three siblings, Sandra L. Chinn (Harold) of Burbank, Joseph J. Bazilius of Strongsville, and Nancy Bazilius of North Ridgeville; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and by her extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Maynard who passed away in 2000; her parents, Joseph and Emma (nee Peters) Bazilius; and by two siblings, Joyce A. Blevins and Jim H. Bazilius. The family will welcome friends on Wednesday February 14, 2018 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. Rev. William Mugnolo, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in Elyria, will officiate the services being held Thursday February 15, 2018 at 11:00am at the funeral home. The burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon. The family requests that memorial contributions to made to an organization of the donor’s choice.
