Gary L. Burgess

Gary L. Burgess, 74, of Grafton, passed away Friday December 29, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.  Gary was born September 2, 1943 in Berea.  He was a life-long resident of Lorain County and a 1961 graduate of Midview High School.  He worked for GM for 30 years and retired in 1995, served on the Eaton Township Zoning Board for several years and was a member for many years of Midview Baptist Church.  He also enjoyed the time that he spent as a 4H advisor when his children were involved with the organization.  Gary was a true family man whose greatest joy was to spend time with his loved ones.  Gary was the Beloved Husband of 54 years of Sheryl (nee Spanski); the Cherished Father of Wendy Combs (Jim) of Lodi, Robin Kiser (Mark) of Grafton and Eric Burgess of Grafton; the Loving Grandfather of Amanda, Mark, J.J., Kaila, Chase, Kyra, Clay, Willow and Jack; the Loving Great-Grandfather of Kalan, Caedan and Emelia; and the Dear Brother of Brenda Burgess of North Carolina.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis and Fela (nee Dayton) Burgess; his brother, Wayne Burgess; and by his infant son, Gary Burgess Jr.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday January 3, 2018 from 4 to 7pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville.  The Funeral Service will be Thursday January 4, 2018 at 11:00am at Midview Baptist Church, 36710 Royalton Rd., (Route 82) in Grafton.  Pastor Tim Mayo will officiate.  Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery in Eaton Township.
