James A. Oster

James A. Oster, 74, of North Ridgeville, passed away November 17, 2017 at his residence following a long illness.  He was born May 5, 1943 in Cleveland and had been a resident of North Ridgeville for many years.  He was a graduate of St. Edward High School in Lakewood.  Mr. Oster was a Heavy Equipment Operator and was a member of The International Operator Engineers Union Local #18 in Cleveland for 52 years.  He was employed by Alcon Construction in Cleveland for many years and retired from Triad Construction.  He enjoyed tinkering and fixing things.  He also enjoyed model trains.  Mr. Oster is survived by; three daughters, Tracy Walters (Paul), Tammy Rice (Matt) and Cynthia Kincaid; two sons, James Oster (Judy) and Larry Oster (Tricia); 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beatrice Sutton and Alice Meder (Dale); two brothers, Robert Oster (Sandy) and David Oster (Sandy); a sister-in-law, Alice Rose Oster; and by his former wife, Peggy Oster.  He was preceded in death by; his parents, Stephen and Helen (nee Bash) Oster; a step-son, Barry Newhouse; an infant brother, George; and by three brothers, William, Thomas and Raymond Oster.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 21, 2017 from 4 to 7pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville.  The funeral service will be Wednesday November 22, 2017 at 1:30pm at the funeral home.  Rev. Dennis Zimmerman will officiate.  Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery in Eaton Township.
