Jerry D. Turner

Jerry D. Turner, 58, of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Monday October 29, 2018.  He was born in Berea on January 14, 1960 and was a lifelong resident of Lorain County.  Jerry was a 1978 graduate of North Ridgeville High School.  He was an industrial salesman for many years and retired in 2015 because of health issues.  Jerry was a man of God and was a member of Christian Unity Church in Grafton.  He was also a family man and enjoyed organizing family gatherings.  Jerry loved his dogs, Smokey and Bandit and also enjoyed golfing and he was an avid sports fan.  Jerry will be greatly missed by all of his family and many friends.  He is survived by; his wife of 18 years, Melissa “Missy” (nee Coleman); a son, Jeremy Turner of Elyria; two granddaughters, Hannah and Jenna Turner; his mother, Judy Turner (nee Bohannon) of Elyria; three sisters, Wilma Walker (Robert) of Grafton, Sandra McHue and Sharon Turner, both of Elyria; four brothers, James Turner (Pat) and Richard Turner, both of Elyria, David Turner of North Ridgeville and Bill Turner (Melissa) of Parma; and by many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by; his father, James Turner in 1997; a sister, Karen Anderson in 2009; and by a niece, Emily Turner in 2017.  The family will receive friends on Friday November 2, 2018 from 11am until the time of the funeral service at 1pm at Christian Unity Church, 36353 Capel Rd., Grafton.  Pastor Neal Brock will officiate the service.  Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria.  Liston Funeral Home, North Ridgeville, is serving the family.
