Karen J Melnyk

Karen Jean Melnyk (nee LeRoy), 76 of North Ridgeville, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake. Karen was born February 6, 1942 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In her early childhood Karen moved to Cleveland, where she attended and graduated from South High School in 1960. Karen moved to North Ridgeville in 1975. She would often spend her days with her family and her beloved animals; Sophie, and Jazzy. Karen was also an avid reader, delving into True Crime novels. In between novels and time with her family, Karen also highly enjoyed dancing, to which she continued to partake in until recently. Karen is survived by three daughters; Michael Ann Ahmetovic, Renee Robin Harbin, and Pamela Jo Thompson; one granddaughter, Emily Ahmetovic; two grandsons; two great grandchildren, Mila Fink and Jaxson Fink; her sister, Kathy Karhan; and by her son in-law, Dean Ahmetovic. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband. Gary Melnyk; her parents, Frank and Ruth Cromika; and her brother, Frank Cromika Jr. Private services will be held.
