Linda M. Laursen (nee Balsman), 69, of Amherst, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday December 30, 2018 at St. Mary of the Woods in Avon. She was born February 16, 1949 in Lorain and was a life-long resident of Lorain County. Linda was a 1967 graduate of Midview High School. She was employed at several area banks and also served as a school secretary at The King’s Academy in Elyria. Linda was an active member of Christ The King Vineyard Church in North Olmsted, where she volunteered in many roles. Her top priority was always to serve her family as wife, mother and nana. She is survived by: her husband of 48 years, Finn; one daughter, Dawn Molnar (Michael) of Lorain; one son, Michael Laursen (Jessica) of Avon; six grandchildren, Ethan, Mackenzie and Kaitlyn Molnar, Raelyn, Adalee and Amelia Laursen; one sister, Carol Pomfrett (Jan) of Sheffield Village; and by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by; her parents, William and Elizabeth (nee Komber) Balsman; and by one sister, Arlene Balsman. A Homecoming Service in Thanksgiving to the Lord for the life of Linda Laursen will be held Saturday January 12, 2019 at 10am at Christ The King Vineyard Church, 30635 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted. Linda’s brother-in-law, Paul Laursen, will officiate the homecoming service. A private family committal service will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Westlake. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the CTK-Linda Laursen Memorial Fund, at the church, to help support local, national and international ministries. Liston Funeral Home, North Ridgeville, is serving the family.
