Lucy W. Spradling (nee Weaver), 92, of North Olmsted, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Tuesday September 11, 2018, one day before her 93rd birthday. She was born September 12, 1925 in Center, North Dakota. Mrs. Spradling had resided in North Olmsted for over 60 years. She was a homemaker and was also retired from the former Zayre Department Store in North Olmsted where she worked as a sales clerk for many years. Mrs. Spradling was a faithful member for many years of Grace Church of North Olmsted (formerly North Olmsted Baptist Church). She was fit and active and participated in water aerobics classes at the North Olmsted Recreation Center well into her 90’s. Mrs. Spradling was very devoted to her family and will be remembered for being a gracious and kind lady. She was also an avid reader. Lucy Spradling is survived by; two daughters, Annette Thorson (Eric) of Akron and Rebecca “Becky” Spradling (John White) of Tempe, Arizona; one son, Clarence E. “Eddy” “Spud” Spradling Jr., (Donna) of Medina; four grandchildren, Greg and Brad Thorson, Charity Thomas and Sarah Richardson; and by one great-granddaughter, Sierra Thorson (and one great-grand child on the way!). She was preceded in death by; her husband of 57 years, Clarence E. Spradling Sr. in 2002; by her parents, Eldon and Bernice (nee Peake) Weaver; and by three sisters and two brothers. The family will receive friends on Monday September 17, 2018 from 4 to 7pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. The Funeral Service will be Tuesday September 18, 2018 at 11am at the funeral home. Rev. Tom Brown will officiate. The interment will be Tuesday at 1:15pm at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the North Olmsted Library in care of the Cuyahoga County Public Library Foundation Office.
