Marilyn Y. Fetchet (nee Brobst), 88, of Columbia Station, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday March 3, 2018 at the Jacobs Cleveland Clinic Pavilion in Avon. She was born May 22, 1929 in Kansas City, Kansas and had been a resident of Columbia Station for 53 years. She attended Kent State University. For 28 years, Mrs. Fetchet was the branch manager and librarian at the Columbia Station Library. She was a dog lover and was involved with the AKC. For many years, she raised and showed dogs of various breeds. Mrs. Fetchet was a former member of the Lorain County Mental Health Board, a former den mother for the Cub Scouts and was a former Welcome Wagon Lady in Columbia Station. She was also involved with the Historical Society. She enjoyed cooking, playing the piano and she was an avid reader. Mrs. Fetchet is survived by; two daughters, Patricia Jowett (James) of Crystal Beach, FL and Julie Dehrmann (Marc) of Medina; three sons, Laurence of Columbia Station, Thomas (Beverly) of Sharpsburg, GA and John (Lynda) of Columbia Station; 10 grandchildren; and by eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by; her husband, Frank Fetchet in 2010; her brother, Charles Brobst and by her parents, Charles and Irene (nee Crawford) Brobst. The family will receive friends for a memorial gathering on Saturday March 10, 2018 from 2 to 5pm followed by a time of thoughts and remembrances at 5pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Columbia Station Branch of the Lorain County Public Library System.
