Mark Allen “Mac” Clapper, 60, of Amherst, formerly of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Saturday December 16, 2017. He was born in Oberlin on January 24, 1957 and was a life-long resident of Lorain County. Mark attended Elyria West High School and was formerly employed as a welder. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Later-day Saints. Mark loved animals. He was also a musician and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. He is survived by; his father, Jay L. Clapper Sr. of Elyria; two brothers, Jay L. Clapper Jr. of Lorain and Randy S. Clapper (Lisette) of Elyria; one niece, Stephanie C. Clapper of Lorain; and by one nephew, Steven J. Clapper of Elyria. Mark was preceded in death by his mother, Cora N. Clapper (nee Weekes) in 2015. The family will receive friends on Thursday December 21, 2017 from 4 to 7pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. The Funeral Service will be Friday December 22, 2017 at 2pm at the funeral home with Bishop Roy Canonizado officiating. Burial will be at Ridgeville Cemetery in North Ridgeville. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
