Michael E. “Mike” Hodits, 69, of LaGrange, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday August 9, 2018 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake. He was born September 13, 1948 in Dayton and was a 1967 graduate of Patterson Cooperative High School in Dayton. Michael had resided in Lorain County since 2003 and formerly resided in Chandler, Arizona for 23 years. He had a bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix. He worked as a Systems Manager with the Motorola Government Electronics Group in Arizona for 23 years and retired in 2002. After moving back to Lorain County, he worked for five years at Defense Finance and Accounting Services in Cleveland. Mike was a member of First Baptist Church in Elyria. He enjoyed boating and fishing. He is survived by; his loving wife of 49 years, Gail (nee Clark); two sons, Mark Allen Hodits of Columbus and Michael William Hodits (Stacey) of Chandler, Arizona; and by three brothers, Frank W. Hodits (Billye) of Huron, Jim Hodits of Columbus and Chuck Hodits (Pam) of Dayton. He was preceded in death by; his parents, Frank and Mildred (nee Fiely) Hodits; his sister, Mary Jacobs; and by a brother, John Hodits. The family will receive friends on Monday August 13, 2018 from 4 to 7pm at First Baptist Church of Elyria, 11400 LaGrange Road, Elyria. The funeral service will be Tuesday August 14, 2018 at 11:00am at the church. Pastor Patrick Odle will officiate the service. Burial will be on Wednesday August 15, 2018 at 10:00am at Hillgrove Cemetery in Miamisburg. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
