Michael G. "Mike" Plechaty

Michael G. “Mike” Plechaty, 50, of Wellington, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Wednesday March 1, 2017 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center.  He was born January 13, 1967 in Chicago, IL. and was a Wellington resident for 23 years.  Mike was raised in Greenwich and attended Plymouth High School.  He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Automation Engineering from the University of Akron.  He was employed as an Automation Engineer at Webb Stiles in Valley City and he formerly worked as the Head Pressman at Quebecor World in Oberlin.  He attended First Baptist Church of Elyria.  He loved math, motorcycle riding and fishing.  Mike was a family man and he loved time spent with his wife and children.  He is survived by; his wife of 24 years, Karen (nee Beal); three children, Rebecca, Jessica and Michael Plechaty, all at home; one grandson, Mason; his parents, Roger and Jennifer (nee York) Plechaty of Greenwich; and by his father and mother-in-law, Harold and June Beal of Mansfield.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Kay Hunt in 2014.  The family will receive friends on Sunday March 5, 2017 from 1:30 to 3:30pm at First Baptist Church of Elyria, 11400 Lagrange Rd., Elyria.  The funeral service will be Monday March 6, 2017 at 10:00am at the church.  Pastor Josh Butler will officiate.  Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Wellington.  Liston Funeral Home, North Ridgeville, is serving the family.
