Norma Jean Arbogast (nee Bohannon), 79, of Brook Park, went home to be with the Lord Thursday July 18, 2019 at Manor Care Health Services in Parma surrounded by her family. Norma Jean was born on March 20, 1940 in Benton, Kentucky. She was a resident of Brook Park for most of her adult life beginning in the early 1960s, except for a few years when she lived in nearby cities. Norma was an active member of Pleasant Valley Church where she was involved with senior group activities and a loyal Sunday School supporter. She was also actively involved with the online prayer ministry Mercy Drops. Norma was a big fan of the Cleveland Indians – if the Tribe was playing ball, she was watching the game on TV. Norma loved animals, specifically cats and dogs, and spent time as a volunteer at the Berea Animal Shelter. The focus and love of Norma’s life was her family. She dedicated her life to raising her sons and then to caring for and loving her grandchildren whom she adored. Norma is survived by three sons, Steven (Susan), James (Kim) and Richard (Linda) Arbogast; seven grandchildren, Jason (Kari), Katie, Anna, Adam, Aaron, Elijah and Julieanna; one sister, Sheila Smith; four brothers, Chuck, Kenny, Don and Bob Bohannon and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest in 1994. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 27, 2019 from 10:00am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00am at Pleasant Valley Church, 12193 West Pleasant Valley Road, Parma. Burial will follow at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery in Cleveland. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Berea Animal Shelter or Hospice of the Western Reserve.
