Phil Roose

Phil Roose, 80, of Elyria, received his heavenly promotion and is now with his Savior.  He slipped away on Thursday January 11, 2018 at his residence.  He was born October 6, 1937 in Amherst and was a life-long resident of Lorain County.  He was a veteran and served in the US Army.  Phil was an auto mechanic and was employed by several auto dealerships in the area in various capacities including management of the parts department and the body shop.  He was a member of Abbe Road Baptist Church in Elyria for over 30 years, where he served as an usher and greeter (his warm and friendly smile was a blessing to all who were greeted by him.) Phil enjoyed woodworking, antiques and shopping at garage sales.  He loved his family and really enjoyed his grandkids.   He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pat (nee Rader); one daughter, Jodi Jordan; two sons, Todd (Dana) and Kim (Annette); nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by; an infant daughter, Julie; an infant son, Chad; one sister, Anne Beasley; and by his mother, Florence Roose (nee Blessing).  The family will receive friends on Sunday January 14, 2018 from 2:00pm until the time of the funeral service at 4:00pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville.  Pastor Cal Searles will officiate.  The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Abbe Road Baptist Church.
