Richard Foy, 93, of North Ridgeville, passed away Monday September 23, 2019 at his residence due to a short illness. He was born August 4, 1926 in Junior, West Virginia and was a 1944 graduate of Philippi High School in Philippi, West Virginia. Mr. Foy was a long-time resident of North Ridgeville. He was employed as a foreman at General Motors and retired in 1983 after 30 years of service. He was a member of the East Broad Street Church of Christ in Elyria since the church was organized in 1956. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and doing handyman jobs. Richard was a great family man and his motto always was; “You’ve got to keep moving to keep living”. Mr. Foy is survived by; his wife of 74 years, Wanda (nee Bolton); his daughter, Laura Kuhn (Randy); three grandchildren, Pam Pence (Ralph), Shari Kyle and Gary Kuhn; seven great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and by one sister, LaVena Drop. He was preceded in death by; his parents, Ted and Ethel Foy; one sister, Veria Poling; and by one brother, Leonard Foy. The family will receive friends on Thursday September 26, 2019 from 10:00am until the time of the funeral service at 11:30am at the East Broad Street Church of Christ, 1125 East Broad Street in Elyria. Mr. Terry Spriestersbach will officiate the service. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the church.
