Grief can be so hard, but our cherished memories help us cope. Hold tight to those memories….Lean on each other for support…. And look to God’s word the Bible, for comfort and strength. James 4:8 encourages; “Draw close to God, and He will draw close to you.”

Dear Kathleen and family,
I was very sorry to hear that your most precious husband and father has died. What a good Christian man he was! I know that you are finding comfort in the knowledge that Bob is finally at peace and resting in the arms of the Father, and a well-earned rest it is! I hope that each of you find peace and comfort in all the wonderful memories you have of this man's good life. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Kathleen and family, I am so sorry to learn of the death of your most precious husband, father and grandfather.   He was a very kind and humble man. I remember when I came to Jo Ann Wright's wake; Bob sat down next to me and held my hand, without saying much, for probably an hour. I cannot tell you how much that simple gesture meant to me. I know that you are all aware that Bob is finally safe in the arms of Jesus, and that you also know that Jesus is walking with each of you on this sad journey. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Kathy,
I read the Plain Dealer online while we are in Florida, and saw the notice of Bob's death. We are deeply sorry for your great loss. Your marriage and family life were such an inspiration to us as a young couple in the 70's! It has been many years, but I have some wonderful memories and images in my heart, including the privilege of visiting your home. It felt so sacred. God be with you and all your family! Love and prayers, Marianne and Ralph

HELLO, FORTHOFER FAMILY!

I'm here at work at the Security/Reception Desk at the Renaissance and was looking at the Chronicle's website and read about Dad's passing, which I am saddened to learn about.
I just talked to Dad recently (the day after he told me had an 87th birthday). He sounded great and didn't mention anything out of the ordinary.
I was calling to make sure that Mother would have my sister Sally's new address in Colorado. Dad said that she was in bed as they try to go to bed earlier than most folks. I accepted the information but haven't got back to talk to Mother.
Rather than go much farther with this message, please accept my sympathy and know that I know that Dad was a great person for all -- family, friends, etc.
I'm going to shoot an email to Sally and probably try to get word of Dad's passing to other friends and family. Again, the Henson Family is sorry to learn of Dad's passing.
TAKE EXTRA-GOOD CARE OF YOURSELVES AS ALL OF YOU ARE IN OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS AT THIS TIME AND ALWAYS -- GERALD A. (JERRY) HENSON FOR THE HENSON FAMILY, LIFELONG FRIENDS OF YOURS
P.S. PLEASE LET MOTHER KNOW TO CONTACT ME IF SHE HAS ANY NEED THAT I MAY BE ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF. I DON'T HAVE A COMPUTER AT HOME BUT CHECK FOR EMAILS SOMEWHERE A FEW TIMES EACH WEEK. MY HOME PHONE NUMBER IS (440) 458-6763 AND MY CELL PHONE NUMBER IS (440) 731-5635; BOTH PHONES ACCEPT VOICE MAILS AND ARE CHECKED FOR VOICE MAILS SEVERAL TIMES EACH DAY.

Dearest Kathleen,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss.  I know Bob only through your stories.   Those of us who have been privleged to hear your Ma and Pa stories were given a glimpse of his soul and the beauty of marriage and love you two have shared.  Your stories will always be a memory I treasure.   You are in Deb's and my prayers.
Love ,
