Susan A Haller

Susan A. Haller (nee Blankenship), 65, of North Ridgeville, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday July 18, 2018, at St. John Medical Center in Westlake. She was born May 25, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio. Susan lived most of her life in Lakewood and had been a North Ridgeville resident for over 20 years. She spent a lot of her time volunteering for the Puritas Lutheran Church in Cleveland; she participated in bible studies, women’s group, vacation bible school, and served as an acolyte. Susan had a passion for animals, as she loved to foster stray cats. She also loved being outdoors where she would often spend time in her garden, tending to her plants. While she enjoyed watching her plants grow, Susan even more so, loved to watch her family grow; she was very family oriented and spent much of her time with her children and grandchildren. Susan is survived by her husband Edward “Buzz” Haller; four children, April Smith (nee Dogger) (Matt) of North Ridgeville, Nicole Jacobson (nee Haller) (Matt) of Elyria, Edward “Eddie” Haller (Diane) of North Ridgeville, and Amanda Harvey (nee Haller) (Bill) of North Ridgeville; seven grandchildren, MJ, Leia, Amelia, Nora, Jacob, Craig, and Avery; six siblings, Sandy, Rick, David, Terry, Cindy, and Kurt; and by her animals, her schnauzer Jackson, and her zoo of fostered cats. She is preceded in death by her parents William and MaryAnn Blankenship; grandparents, Mary and Joseph Antl; and by her sister Leslie. The family welcomes friends for a time of remembrance on Monday July 30, 2018 from 4pm until the time of the memorial service at 7pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. Pastor Paul Pater from Shepherd of the Ridge Lutheran Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Friendship Animal Protective League of Lorain County in Elyria, Ohio.
