Thomas F. Linke MD, 90, of Bay Village, went home to be with the Lord on September 1, 2019 at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland. He was born February 6, 1929 in Cullman, Alabama, and was raised in Barberton, Ohio. He had resided in the Cleveland area for many years. He graduated from Barberton High School, got his undergraduate degree from Baldwin Wallace University in Berea and was a 1955 graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland. He was a veteran and served in the US Navy Reserves. Doctor Linke was an orthopaedic surgeon and had his own medical practice in Lakewood for many years. He was a member for many years of Grace Baptist Church in Westlake and more recently was attending First Baptist Church of Elyria. Dr. Linke was also a member of many professional medical organizations. He enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, being on the water and outdoor activities. Thomas F. Linke MD is survived by: his wife of 20 years, Ann (nee Garland); his “bonus” children, Lisa Manz of Strongsville, Scott Pickup (Leslie) of Monroe, CT, and Karen Lawler (Mike) of Avon; his beloved “bonus” grandchildren, Brian, Jacob, Robin, Kelsey, Sarah, Mason and Jeffrey; by many extended family members and by many dear friends. He was preceded in death by; his first wife, Shirley (nee Carr); his parents, Ernest and Clara (nee Entrekin) Linke; and by two brothers, George and Curtis Linke. A Celebration of Life Service for Dr. Thomas Linke will be held on Friday September 20, 2019 at 4:30pm at First Baptist Church of Elyria, 11400 Lagrange Rd., in Elyria. Pastor Patrick Odle will officiate. A private family graveside service was held on Thursday September 5, 2019 at Evergreen Cemetery in Westlake. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Elyria Missions Fund. Liston Funeral Home, North Ridgeville, is serving the family.
