Amanda K. Bailey, 47, a lifelong resident of Elyria passed away Thursday December 5, 2024, surrounded by family, following a brief illness. She was born February 17, 1977, in Elyria. Amanda was a graduate of Elyria High School. Amanda loved her career in the medical field. She worked in the emergency room at EMH and was a medical assistant at the Center of Orthopedics in Sheffield. Throughout her career, Amanda met many friends. She enjoyed taking day trips with friends, going to the lake, attending concerts, and spending time with her niece and nephew, Amanda was very loved and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Amanda is survived by her parents, Mike and Pam Bailey; her sister, Rachel Barley (Doug); her niece, Shelby Collins (Gage); her nephew, Jeremy Barley (Melanie Meecha); and her great niece, Chloe Collins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard and Miriam Gruber; and her great grandparents, John and Grace Banville. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the family, friends, and coworkers who have shown their support and compassion. The family requests that memorial contributions be made in memory of Amanda to the Friendship Animal Protective League of Elyria. The family is planning a celebration of life at a later date.
