Anita Louise Bernard, 82, a resident of Avon, formerly of Berea, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, August 13, 2022. She was born January 7, 1940, in Berea. She is survived by: her six children, LuWayne (Lu) Phillips of Grafton, James Daugherty of Oberlin, Loretta Browning of McMinville, Tennessee, Peggy Betts-Neeland (Nathanial) of Wakeman, Sarah Hoyt of McMinville, Tennessee, and Louis Bernard (Amy) of Elyria; eleven grandchildren, David Lowery (Tabitha) of Mcminville, Tennessee, Amber Phillips of Elyria, John Phillips (Maria) of Elyria, Cody Betts (Rebecca) of Wakeman, Sam Bivins of McMinville, Tennessee, Ryan Bias of Elyria, Connor Betts of Wakeman, Louis Bernard IV of Elyria, Jana Bernard of Elyria, Clyde Hoyt of New York, Anna and Austin Minor of New York; seven grandchildren, Micah, Autumn, Emery, Olivia, Elizabeth, Vivian, and Benjamin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: her daughter, Ruth Ann Chapman; her parents, Peter and Vivian Buric; her brother, Peter; and her two grandsons, Jeromy Gibson and Ben Bivins. The family welcomes friends to join them Thursday, August 18, 2022, from 5pm to 7pm at Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd. North Ridgeville, 44039. The service will be held Friday, August 19, 2022, at 11am at the funeral home. Pastor Paul Hendrix of Avon Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be held at Ridgeville Cemetery.
