Annetta V. Spieth (nee Stricklin), 100, of LaGrange, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday November 20, 2022 at the New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain. She was born July 30, 1922 in Struthers. Mrs. Spieth moved to Lorain County in 1970 and had resided in LaGrange since 1990. She attended Philadelphia College of the Bible in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and that is where she met her husband, Pastor Walter H. Spieth. She loved being a pastor’s wife and together, she and Walter served in ministry from 1944 to 2014. Mrs. Spieth was always a loving wife and a caring mother. She was a member of First Baptist Church of LaGrange and she received great joy by visiting others and praying for them. Annetta V. Spieth is survived by: her daughter, Jean Dalton (Dennis) of LaGrange; two sons, Ralph Spieth (Judy) of Oberlin and Ronald Spieth (Linda) of Kirkersville; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild on the way; a sister, Wilma Kieffer of Austintown; a brother, Tom Stricklin (Carol) of Houston, Texas; and two sisters-in-law, Brenda Stricklin of The Plains, Ohio and Edith Weber of Whitsett, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Rev. Walter H. Spieth in 2016; her daughter-in-law, Linda Spieth (nee Branch) in 2016; a grandson, David Spieth in 2021; her parents, Charles and Catherine (nee Crieton) Stricklin; two sisters, Ruth Toker and Norma Pagac; and two brothers, David and Bud Stricklin. The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 29, 2022 from 6 to 8pm at First Baptist Church of LaGrange, 200 Church Street in LaGrange. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday November 30, 2022 at 11am at the church. Pastor Noel Hack will officiate. Burial will be private at River Road Cemetery in LaGrange. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Baptist Mid-Mission (bmm.org).
