Byron Alfred Rohrbach, 100, went to be with the Lord on October 17, 2025, in Elyria OH. He was born April 25, 1925 in Hazelton, PA to the late Raymond and Getha (nee Smith) Rohrbach. He lived in Elyria since 2018 with his son Glenn Rohrbach and daughter-in-law, Jan. He graduated from Hazleton Senior High School in 1943 and was drafted into the service in July of that year. He entered the U.S. Army Air Forces cadet program and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1945 as a navigator of the B-24 Liberator. Later, he continued to serve in the Air Force Reserves until he retired in 1970 with the rank of major. After his discharge in 1945 he started to work for a wholesale hardware company in Scranton PA where he learned the locksmith trade. He later was hired by the Social Security Administration and was with them 25 years until he retired as manager of the Pottstown PA office. During this time, he also had a part-time locksmith business and helped his wife manage the Christian Bookstore they had in Phoenixville PA. He was a Cub Scout Leader, a trainer for Cub Scout Leaders, a Scout Master, and an Explorer Scout leader while his children were growing up. His hobby was woodworking. He and Mom were faithful members of Harvest Fellowship-Boyertown PA for many years. He served in Outreach and Bible Study ministries and as an Elder and Treasurer.
He is survived by seven children: Jerome (Barbara) Rohrbach of Springfield VT, June (David) Hagel of Fleetwood PA, Glenn (Jan) Rohrbach of Elyria OH, Kathryn (Glynn) McCann of Honey Brook PA, Edward (Marji) Rohrbach of Phoenixville PA, Judith (Scott) Frasier of Lexington VA, and Christiana Rohrbach of Conway AR; 20 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Anna (nee Muffley) Rohrbach; his sister, Shirley Lewis; a son, William R. Rohrbach; a grandson, David W. Rohrbach and grandson, Baby Billy Rohrbach.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial and Celebration of Life Service at Harvest Fellowship, 584 Colebrookdale Rd, Boyertown, PA, Saturday, November 22nd at 11:00 AM. Officiating will be Pastor Barry Parsons. Burial will be held in the Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick PA.
