Carol E. McNeeley (nee Barker), 70, a long-time resident of Elyria, formerly of Cleveland, passed away peacefully following a short illness on Thursday June 10, 2021 at University Hospital of Cleveland. She was born April 9, 1951, in Glenwood, West Virginia. Carol worked in the E.R. at Southwest General Hospital in Middleburg Heights as a Patient Care Assistant for 18 years, retiring in 2011. She enjoyed: traveling to casinos, visiting the Amish country, and spending time with her friends and grandsons. Carol is survived by: her daughter, Carrie Dobies (Thomas); 2 grandsons, Michael Izzarelli (Katelyn), and Christian Dobies; her great granddaughter, Brynlee Faye; 4 sisters, Brenda Jenkins (Andrew) of Kentucky, Marlene Slagle, Patricia Elek (Dale) of Grafton, and Deanna May of Lima; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, John V. McNeeley; and by her parents, Herschel and Charlene Barker. The family welcomes friends to join them on Tuesday June 15, 2021, from 4 to 7pm with the service starting at 7pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville.
