Carol Strickland (nee Lee), 76, a long-time resident of Elyria, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, January 12, 2024. She was born February 24, 1947, in Lewisburg, Tennessee. Carol graduated from Midview High School in 1965. She was a very well-known wedding cake decorator and the owner of Cake Connection. Later she and her husband Tom owned and operated Sidelines Sports Grill in Elyria. Carol was a member of the Hospice of Western Reserve Grief Group. She is survived by her three children, Douglas Strickland (Jessica), Monica Elliott-Jordan (Deb), and Chad Strickland (Michele); six grandchildren, Thomas (Samantha), Cassandra (Dan), Bradlee, Brittanie (Alex), Brett (Sierra), and Brooke (JJ); five great grandchildren, Brock, Olivia, Zoey, Carson, and Josie; her brother, Dick Lee; her sister, Brenda Meador; and her sisters-in-law, Pat, and Carol. Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Tom; her parents, William and Mary Lee; and her two brothers, Donald, and Wayne. The family welcomes friends to join them on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 10am to 12pm, with the service beginning at 12om, at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery, in Eaton Twp. Pastor Dave Swartz will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Hospice of Western Reserve.
