Charles Walking "Chuck" Hawk Obituary
Charles Walking “Chuck” Hawk, 85 of North Ridgeville, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026 at UH Elyria Medical Center. He was born August 30, 1940 on the Lakota Sioux Reservation in Oglala Lakota County, South Dakota. Chuck was a proud American Indian man and his Lakota Sioux heritage remained an important part of his identity throughout his life. He also held strong Native spiritual beliefs that stayed close to his heart. Chuck worked as a builder of kidney dialysis centers, across many states throughout his long career, before retiring. He had a special love for animals and babies, both of which brought him immense joy. He was a dedicated Cleveland Guardians fan, rarely missing a game, and he enjoyed visiting casinos. Those closest to him knew that he could survive on Diet Coke and chocolate alone! He was known for his kindness and generosity, and his willingness to offer a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Above all else, Chuck was a devoted family man, and he deeply loved spending time with those he cared about most. He will be deeply missed. Chuck is survived by: his step-children, Chris (Susan), Ken, and Chandra (Brian); his grandchildren, Brandon (Jessica), Shelby (Tim), Alexandria (Nick), Samantha, and Grace; and his great grandchildren, Trevor and Zyriah. He was preceded in death by: his first wife, Ida, and their two children; and his second wife, Jan. No funeral services will be held at this time. A Celebration of Chuck’s life will be announced at a later date.
