Charles Wayne Wilkins, 86, of North Ridgeville, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake.  He was born July 14, 1939 in Senath, Missouri, and had resided in North Ridgeville for over 40 years.  Growing up on a cotton farm in Senath, Missouri, shaped the man that Charles became-hardworking, resilient, and deeply appreciative of family, faith, and simple pleasures.  Charles spent several years as a Ford employee in Alabama, before continuing his career in Ohio as a die cast Forman at the former Empire Die Casting Company in Macedonia.  He earned the respect of his coworkers and friends through his strong work ethic and leadership abilities.  Charles was an avid metal detectorist, who loved the excitement of discovering hidden treasures.  He took great pride in gardening and spending time outdoors.  He was known as “The Tomato Man” at Claremar Twin Lakes Camping Resort in New London, where he and his wife spent many summers riding on a golf cart, admiring nature and making memories.  He also loved raising Monarch butterflies, and he planted special flowers and milkweed in his yard to attract them.  Charles was also a loyal Cleveland sports fan, and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams.  He also enjoyed attending Harvest Ridge Church in North Ridgeville.  Charles’ memory will live on in the lives of those who knew and loved him.  His family hopes that whenever you see a Monarch butterfly, you will pause and remember Charles with a smile.  Charles Wilkins is survived by: his wife of 38 years, Janet (nee Eiben); his sisters, Brenda, Linda, and Glenda; daughters, Carla, Sheila, Megan, and Heather; grandchildren, Dallon, Sierra, Haley, and Gianna; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by, his parents, Ira and Velvalee (nee Crosnoo) Wilkins; and an infant brother, Bruce Wilkins. The family will receive friends on Saturday May 23, 2026 from 1:30pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 3:00pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville.  Pastor Steve Archer from Harvest Ridge Church in North Ridgeville will officiate the service.
