Christina Marie “Lilly” Cohoon, 44, of Lorain, passed away Monday August 19, 2024 at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland. She was born May 23, 1980 in Elyria and was a life-long resident of Lorain County. Christina was a graduate of the EMT program at Lorain County Community College and she worked as an EMT at Jack Thistledown Racino in North Randall. She also formerly worked as an EMT for Physicians Ambulance and Life Care Ambulance and as a Phlebotomy Instructor at Med-Cert Training Center in Maple Heights. Christina was currently a student at SNHU and was majoring in Psychology with the goal of becoming a children’s case worker. She was a member of IAEP Local #07-077 and served as its president for two years. Christina enjoyed the outdoors, camping, kayaking, baking, and cooking. She loved all animals, especially horses, cats, dogs and elephants. Christina fiercely loved her children and her large extended family and she will be greatly missed. She is survived by: her mother, Patricia “Trish” Wright (nee Ranney); her fiancé, Sean Fischbach; her dad, Richard E. Cohoon Sr.; her two daughters, Aubrey and Miranda Samson; her son, Tyler Samson; two sisters, Angela Horvath and Amber Humphrey (Richard); her brother, Richard E. Cohoon Jr.; her step-brother, Jeffrey A. Winters (Sara); two step-sisters, Brittany Hill and Candace Wright; her step-father, Ricky Wright; dear aunts, Dawn “Summer” Rizzen, Amy Fischer (Willie), and Terri Ranney (Scott); a very close cousin, Valene Ranney; dear uncles, Russell Cohoon, Roy Oakley (Deb) and Frank Oakley (Shellie); her “life-long” sister, Amber Dysart (son, miles); her “life-long” brother, Tommy Collins; her “life-long” best friend, Mandi Richings; her nephews, Kayden Horvath, Karter, Ricky and Collin Humphrey, and Jonah and Marcus Winter; her niece and Goddaughter, Alena Humphrey; cousins, Brandon Ranney, Brianna Davis, Leeann Rodriguez, Brandi “Pie” Fischer, Morganne Fischer, David Fischer (Lauren), Melanie Rose Ranney, and James Williams; four cats, Smokey, Midnight, Smores, and Gracie; two dogs, Zoe and Shiloh; and many passed adored pets. She was preceded in death by: her brother, Julius J. Horvath; her grandparents, Edward E. Jr. and Shirley J. Ranney, Cecil and Shirley Naylor, and Paul and Margaret Wright; her great-grandmother, Alice M. “Gigi” Ryan; and a cousin, Zackery Ranney. The family will receive friends on Sunday August 25, 2024 from 1 to 4pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd. (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. The funeral service will follow at 4pm with Pastor David Swartz officiating. A gathering will be held after the funeral at South Central Park in North Ridgeville.
