Clara Maynard

Clara Maynard, 61, a longtime resident of North Ridgeville, formerly of North Carolina, passed away peacefully surrounded by her sisters and niece Friday, November 3, 2023, at O’Neil Health Care in North Ridgeville. She was born February 26, 1962, in Homestead, Florida. Clara graduated from Pleasant High School in Marion, Ohio, in 1982, and attended State Beauty Academy in 1983. She worked as a 911 phone operator in Wilson, North Carolina for 15 years before retiring. She loved to read, listen to country music, crocheting, caring for her animals, especially her dog Elsie, and "moke" while she had her coffee with hazelnut creamer. Clara is survived by her four sisters, Pat Sipkovsky, Cathy “Cis” Marshall, Maxine Staffo (Bob), and Beth Brooks (Joe); her niece and caregiver, Chris Dreger (Dan); and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Catherine Maynard; and her three siblings, Jerry Renfro, Hayes “Pistol” Maynard, and Cindy Maynard. The family welcomes friends to join them Saturday, November 11, 2023, from 1pm to 3pm, with the memorial service beginning at 3pm, at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. Pastor Dave Swartz will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
