Curtiss Alan Ward of North Olmsted, Ohio, passed away on September 2, 2019 after an eight year battle with colon cancer. He was 54. Curt is survived by: his wife, Joanna; his step-daughters, Danica (Matt) and Marissa; his mother, Kathleen; his brother, Dale (Andrea); his sister, Sharen (Kevin); and by his nephews, Kai, Aidan and Jackson. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard L. Ward. Curt was born September 21, 1964 at St. John’s Hospital in Cleveland and was raised in Brook Park. He was a 1982 graduate of Berea High School. Curt owned his own small business which did installation, general contracting and painting and he continued to work throughout the length of his illness. He thoroughly embraced and enjoyed his role as a father and loved spending time with his girls. Curt was quick and witty with a “unique” sense of humor that was unmatched. He had an interest in bowling for his entire life. Childhood bowling leagues lead to multiple leagues as an adult where he averaged in the 200’s and once bowled a perfect 300 game! Curt had a life-long passion for the Cleveland Indians and the Cleveland Browns. As an avid fan, he attended hundreds of home and away games. He was forever the eternal optimist, looking forward to every season. Two weeks prior to his death, Curt was able to attend his last Tribe game with family and close friends. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends, including his beloved felines. A celebration of Curt’s life will be held on Saturday September 21, 2019 from 1 to 4pm at Zach’s Steakhouse, 425 W. Bagley Rd., Berea, OH 44017 and all family and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution in Curt’s name to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
