Obituary

Daniel C. Wohleber, 62, a resident of North Olmsted, passed away at St. John Medical Center in Westlake on Sunday, July 2, 2023. He was born January 22, 1961, in Elyria. Danny grew up in North Ridgeville, where he spent most of his life. He became interested in weightlifting as a teenager, dedicating his time to powerlifting. Danny went on to claim the title of the world’s strongest teenager. He began competing in international competitions as far as India, and locally throughout the US and Hawaii. Daniel made the cover of Powerlifting USA magazine, and into the Gunness Book of World Records for being the first person to deadlift over 900lbs. Loving father to Daniel (Allison), cherished grandfather to Fisher, dear brother to Earl Jr. Nancy, Bob, Rick, and Tom (Carol), uncle to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and a friend to many. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Eleanor Wohleber; and three brothers, Larry, Jack, and George. The family welcomes friends to join them for a celebration of life memorial service from 2pm to 5pm at the VFW Post 9340, 25742 Royalton Rd., Columbia Station, on Sunday July 16, 2023.
