David K. “Dave” Edwards, 78, of Avon, passed away at his residence on June 30, 2026.  He was born in Akron on September 7, 1947.  David had resided in Avon for 14 years, and previously resided in Cleveland for 40 years.  He was a proud veteran of the US Navy.  David was an optician and spent most of his career at Rooney Optical in Brook Park and finished his career with Hoya Optical Lab in Berea, retiring after 50 years in the profession.  He was a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Cleveland, where he served as a Deacon, and he was a former Boy Scout Leader in Cleveland.  David was a dedicated family man and he also enjoyed traveling and vacationing.  David K. Edwards is survived by: his beloved wife of 55 years, Sharon (nee Wright); his son, Timothy Edwards (Karen) of San Luis Obispo, CA; his daughter, Rebecca Mueller (Shawn) of Westlake; three grandchildren, Aidan, Katerina, and Isabel; and one brother, Gary Edwards (Marjorie) of GA.  He was preceded in death by, his parents, Frank L. and Gertrude A. (nee Baxter) Edwards.  The family will receive friends on Thursday July 16, 2026 from 2pm until the time of the Memorial Service at 4pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville.  Rev. Ed Morris will officiate the Memorial Service, and members from the Honor Guard of VFW Post #9871 in North Ridgeville, will conduct full military honors.
