David K. Powers

David K. Powers, 65, a longtime resident of Sheffield Lake, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. He was born on October 30, 1959, in Chula Vista, California, and grew up in Enterprise, Alabama. David was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a Journeyman Carpenter and Mason and worked for the Cleveland Clinic for eight years in their utilities and maintenance department. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, photography, discussing politics and current events, and watching sports. His favorite teams to cheer on were the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Ohio State Buckeyes. David is survived by his loving partner of 15 years, Kimberly Mateka, her two children, Tony Mateka, and Robin Mateka, and her granddaughter, Gwindolyn See; his two children, Angel Schnoberger (Andrew), and Kyle Powers (JoAnne); his father, Johnnie D. Powers; and three siblings, Pam Lolley (Dean), Dean Powers (Debbie), and Steve Powers (Evelyn). He was preceded in death by his mother, Sybil Powers. The family welcomes friends to join them on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 2pm to 4pm, with the service beginning at 4pm, at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Chaplin Diane Herrick of the Hospice of the Western Reserve will officiate.
