David M. Taylor, 79, of North Ridgeville, passed away Thursday December 10, 2020 at the Cleveland Clinic in Avon. He was born July 21, 1941 in Shade Township, PA and had resided in North Ridgeville for over 40 years. David was a veteran of the US Army, serving from 1964 to 1966 and he was a member of VFW Post #7457 in Central City, PA. He was a retired supervisor from Simkins Industries in Cleveland (formerly St. Regis Paper Company), where he was employed for 40 years. David was a soccer coach for NRASL from 1982-1988. He was also the first coach of the North Ridgeville Rowdies, a girls armature soccer league travel team. He enjoyed going “back home” to Pennsylvania, hunting, fishing, gardening and sitting on his porch swing with a cup of coffee, “shooting the bull” with his friends and neighbors. David was a very proud man with a unique sense of humor, earning him the title of Uncle Bozo! David M. Taylor is survived by; his wife of 54 years, Shirley (nee Danecki); two daughters, Cindy Brandt (Bob) of Toledo and Cathy Pereksta (Al) of Parma Heights; three grandchildren, Laura, Nikki and Jack; two great-grandsons, Zayvion and Jamar; two sisters, Shirley Miller (Linden) of Parma and Carolyn Field (Charles) of Central City, PA; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Margaret (nee Ference) Taylor. The family will receive friends on Sunday December 13, 2020 from 2-4pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. The family will receive friends again on Tuesday December 15, 2020 from 11am until the time of a prayer service at 1pm at the Robert F. Mulcahy Funeral Home, 305 Central Ave., Central City, PA. Father Brian Warchola will officiate the service. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Central City. Members from the honor guard of VFW Post #7457 will conduct full military honors at the cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required at all of the services.
