Deborah L. "Debbie" (Loper) Nickerson

Deborah L. “Debbie” Nickerson (nee Loper), 67, of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday December 18, 2021 at UH Elyria Medical Center in Elyria.  She was born June 5, 1954 in Elyria and resided in Lorain County for many years.  Debbie was a 1972 graduate of Elyria High School and she earned her Associates Degree from Lorain County Community College.  She worked as a bookkeeper for the majority of her career.  She was raised at and formerly attended First Baptist Church in Elyria and in later years she followed Biblical pastors online.  Debbie was an avid reader and she had a large personal library.  She had a deep faith and a personal relationship with her Savior, Jesus Christ and in recent years passionately followed the Biblical Counseling movement.  She loved her family very much and shared that love via emails containing topics that were important to her.  Debbie was also a faithful and loving wife to her late husband, Donald, who passed away in 2012. Deborah L. Nickerson is survived by: one sister, Cindy Wisniewski of Elyria; two brothers, John Loper (Marcia) of Warsaw and Bob Loper (Jacquie) of Elyria; a brother-in-law, Jeff Walters of Elyria; a sister-in-law, Susan Loper of Avon; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by: her parents, Bob and Marilyn (nee Andrews) Loper; a sister, Carol Walters; a brother, Denny Loper; and a brother-in-law, Don Wisniewski.  A memorial service will be held at on Saturday January 8, 2022 at 3pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville.
