Deborah J. Surovey (nee Fink), 74, of North Ridgeville, passed away at The Residential Hospice in Strongsville on Tuesday August 13, 2024. She was born February 21, 1950 in Bay Village and was a 1968 graduate of John Marshall High School in Cleveland. Debbie also graduated from the American School of Beauty Culture in Cleveland in 1969. She had resided in North Ridgeville since 1978. Debbie worked at several jobs over the years including, being a hairdresser, an administrative assistant, a billing clerk, and a waitress at the former Kenny Kings Restaurants in Cleveland and Rocky River. Her most rewarding job was being a homemaker and raising her son. She enjoyed cutting her family’s hair, music and playing the organ, and also volunteering for North Ridgeville Community Care. Deborah J. Surovey is survived by: her son, Stephen M. Surovey Jr. (Rachel) of Columbus; her grandson, Robert of Columbus; two sisters, Sue Scanlon (Charles) of Berea, and Vicky Fink of North Ridgeville; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Stephen M. Surovey Sr. in 2012, a sister, Patricia Fink in 1995, and her parents, Melvin and Pearl (nee Reed) Fink. A graveside service will be held at Sugar Ridge Cemetery in North Ridgeville. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to North Ridgeville Community Care.
