Dollene A. Bakata (nee Dial), 72, a longtime resident of Elyria, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her residence, on Saturday, October 7, 2023. She was born January 25, 1951, in Cleveland. Dollene liked jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, gardening, playing bingo, and her animals, but she loved being a mother more than anything. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Daniel Bakata; three children, Daniel Bakata Jr. (Peggy), Thomas Bakata, and Jennifer Grimes (Danny); seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; two brothers, David, and Fred; her sister, Laverne; and countless nieces and nephews. Dollene was preceded by her parents, Frank and Irene Dial; three brothers, Frank, Glen, and Tom; and her two sisters, Caroline, and Laura.
