Doris E. (Walkden) Keller

Doris E. Keller (nee Walkden), 87, of Elyria, passed away following a short illness on Wednesday September 27, 2023 at UH Elyria Medical Center in Elyria.  She was born in North Royalton on July 18, 1936.  Doris was raised in Columbia Station, was a graduate of Columbia High School, and resided there for many years before moving to Elyria in 1999.  She was a homemaker and also worked as a seamstress at Pat Catan’s Bridals in Strongsville and Elyria for several years.  Doris was a life-long active member of Columbia Baptist Church in Columbia Station.  She was also the past president and an active member of the Woman’s Auxiliary of American Legion Post #12 in Elyria and a member of the Red Hat Society.  For over 40 years, Doris was a volunteer at UH Elyria Medical Center in Elyria.  She and her late husband were also former members of the Winnebago Camping Club.  She enjoyed camping, sewing and attending the events in which her grandchildren were involved.  Doris E. Keller is survived by: her two sons, Randy Keller (Karen) of Polk and Ron Keller (Julie) of Denver, NC; her five grandchildren, Russell, Jessica (Matt), Emily, Sean, and Ethan; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by: her husband, Robert Keller in 2010; her sister, Ruth Palmer in 2021; her brother, Richard Walkden in 2020 and her parents, Reuben and Evelyn (nee Cartwright) Walkden.  The family will receive friends on Saturday October 7, 2023 from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville.  Pastor Phillip Betts from Columbia Baptist Church will officiate.  Interment will be at Columbia Township Cemetery (West River Road) in Columbia Station.  The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Columbia Baptist Church.
