Edith L. Koebler (nee Miner), 85, of Elyria, passed away on Friday February 7, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Greene, Ohio on September 5, 1934. She has resided in Elyria for the past three years and formerly lived in Texas and Columbia Station. Edee graduated in 1978 with an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Lorain County Community College. She formerly owned a day care center in Elyria called Edee’s Little Loves. She also did home based child care while living in Texas. She was a former member of Columbia Church of God in Columbia Station and she was associated with Trail of Faith Ministries and enjoyed Bible study with Pastor Carlos Toledo. She enjoyed writing and she wrote several faith based and early childhood education books. Edith Koebler is survived by: five daughters, Terry Burgess of Elyria, Cindy Childs (Richard) of South Carolina, Mary Ann Flury of Olmsted Falls, Penny Kramer (Marlyn Jr.) of North Carolina and Dr. Judy Flury (Darrell Carter) of Texas; three sons, Bill Flury (Kim) of Brunswick, Jim Walkem (Patty) of Homerville and George Flury of Brunswick; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; one brother, Irwin Miner of Cortland; and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by: three husbands, James Walkem, William Flury and Kenneth Koebler; a son, Louis Flury; a grandson, Craig Burgess; a great-grandson, Riley Walkem; and by a brother, Harlan Miner. The family will receive friends on Thursday February 13, 2020 from 5 to 8pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. The Funeral Service will be Friday February 14, 2020 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Pastor David Swartz will officiate the service. Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery in Eaton Township.
