Edwin L. “Ed” Spiesz, 88, of North Ridgeville, passed away at his residence on Thursday October 12, 2023. He was born July 10, 1935 in Pekin, Illinois and graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1953. Mr. Spiesz had resided in North Ridgeville since 1991 and prior to that he resided in Bay Village. He was a veteran and served in the US Army from 1958 to 1961. Ed worked in administration for A T & T (formerly Ohio Bell) in Cleveland for over 30 years and retired in 1991. He is survived by: his beloved wife of 66 years, Sally S. Spiesz (nee Kellogg); his two sons, Jeffrey Spiesz (Stephanie) of North Ridgeville and Darrin Spiesz (Tera) of Aurora; his grandchildren, Daniel Spiesz (Jamie), Shauna Ertle (Max), Amanda Luciano (John), Jonathan Spiesz, (Erika), and Emerson Spiesz; seven great-grandchildren, Cole, Kyler, Ellie, Weston, Hudson, Aurora, Addison, and one on the way. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Irwin E. and Vera (nee Cook) Spiesz; his sister, Patricia Crawford; and his two brothers, Darrell and Irwin Spiesz. A private family service will be held on Wednesday October 18, 2023 followed by burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville.
