Eleanor N. (Rorak) Yager

Eleanor N. “Ellie” Yager (nee Rorak), 89, a long-time resident of Parma, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 23, 2025 at O’Neill Healthcare in North Olmsted, Ohio.  She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 21, 1936 and was a graduate of John Marshall High School in Cleveland.  Ellie married the love her life and childhood sweetheart, Donald W. Yager, and together, they built a wonderful life. Sadly, Don passed away in 1996 at the young age of 63.  Ellie worked in the medical field for various doctors for several years, before she joined her husband in the office when they purchased a machine shop in Brecksville, Ohio. She loved to travel and she was an avid reader all of her life.  Ellie was the beloved mother of three children; Gary Yager (Anne) of Lakewood, New York, Michael Yager (Patty) of Fairview Park, Ohio, and Joyce Yager of Denver, North Carolina; she cherished her five grandchildren; Ryan Yager, Chad Yager, Jason Yager (Missy), Kristine Shuck (Steve), and Michelle Cruz (Miguel); and she was blessed with seven great grandchildren, Kailee, Kate, Noah, Kimmy, Carter, Caleb, and Michaela.  Ellie is also survived by her sister, Diane Smith of California.  She was preceded in death by; her husband; her brother, Eugene Rorak; and her parents, Aladar and Gizella (nee Fredericks) Rorak. The family will receive friends on Sunday November 30, 2025 from 12 to 2pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville, Ohio.  The funeral service will follow at 2pm with Father Michael Denk from St. Mathias Catholic Church in Parma, officiating.  The interment will be private at Holy Cross Cemetery in Cleveland.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be forwarded to Ellie’s charity of choice, where she volunteered for many years, The Christ Child Society of Cleveland, www.christchildsocietyclevelandohio.org.
