Elizabeth Jeanne Black (nee Karecki), 76, of Avon, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023, after a brave fight to overcome many illnesses, at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus in Cleveland. She was born into a large and hardworking Polish-Hungarian family, on January 28, 1947, in Cleveland. Elizabeth was a strong and independent woman who worked hard her entire life. She devoted her entire life to family, and friends, and will be dearly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her. Elizabeth is survived by her three brothers, Eddie Karecki (Jennifer) of New Jersey, Gerald Karecki of S. Euclid, and Dennis Karecki (Dina) of Parma; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmund and Irene Karecki (nee Solet); two sisters, Patsy Karecki, and Mary Wilder (Gary); three brothers, Ricky, Dale, and Robbie Karecki; her niece, Renee; and her sister-in-law, Merri. The family welcomes friends to join them on Thursday, July 27, 2023, from 11am to 1pm at the Liston Funeral home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville, with the service beginning at 1pm. Elizabeth will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery in Cleveland. Pastor Jesse Stirnemann of Harvest Ridge Church, North Ridgeville will officiate.
